Tulip Festival

Adorageek’s note on current situation:

Adorageek acknowledges that we are in a trying times with the Covid-19 outbreak. However, we at Adorageek are firm believers that there are still moments and events in the wide world worth celebrating. We just have to change the way we are celebrating them. Therefore, Adorageek will continue to share those celebrations with you, in the hopes that in the near future, we can celebrate those moments and events again just like in the good times.

Tulips-01Tulip Festival Amsterdam will take place on 21 March to 10 May 2020. Tulip is Holland’s trademark flower, and during Tulip Festival, tulips bloom at 85 locations: in the public areas of Amsterdam, in the gardens of the city’s museums and hotels, and by notable buildings in the city center as well as in various districts of Amsterdam. All displays in public areas are free to enjoy, for some museum gardens normal ticket prices apply. People from all over the world come to enjoy the beautiful Keukenhof Tulip Gardens and explore the tulip fields just 30 minutes outside the center of Amsterdam.

Sinterklaas 2019 Sinterklaas-01The feast of Sinterklaas is celebrated on the evening of 5 December with Saint Nicholas’s Eve and on the morning of 6 December, in the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, and Northern France. Sinterklaas is a famous figure based on Saint Nicholas, a Christian patron saint of children, and the feast of Sinterklaas is the celebration to commemorate Saint Nicholas’ name day on 6 December. Tulips-01The Netherlands Nationale Tulpendag  or National Tulip Day will be celebrated on 19 January 2019, to officially inaugurate the start of tulip season in the Netherlands. Tulip is Holland’s trademark flower, and the tulip season will last from January to April, when many varieties of tulip will bloom and be ready to be sold or auctioned in florist, supermarkets, and flower stands. The National Tulip Day itself has been celebrated since 2012.

Kinderboekenweek: Vriendschap!

Kinderboekenweek 2018 Jip-01On 3 to 14 October 2018 we will celebrate Kinderboekenweek or the Children’s Book Week in the Netherlands! Kinderboekenweek is an annual “week” of ten days in September and October for the promotion of (Dutch) children’s book.
