Are you excited for Pokémon Day that is celebrated on 27 February? We are! Pokémon is a media franchise centered on a creature called Pokémon. Humans known as Pokémon Trainers will catch and train them to battle other Pokémon. The franchise was created by Satoshi Tajiri on 1995, and on 27 February 2016, Pokémon celebrated its 20th anniversary.

The name Pokémon is the Romanized contraction of the Japanese brand Poketto Monsuta or Pocket Monster. Today there are already 806 species of Pokémon, including the famous Pikachu, the cute yellow Pokémon. The Pokémon can be captured by weakening them and throwing a specialized spherical tool called the Poké Ball. If the Pokémon is unable to escape the confines of the Poké Ball, it is officially considered to be under the ownership of that Trainer.
