Gather up UFO hunters and UFO enthusiasts! We will celebrate World UFO Day on 2 July 2018! UFO, or Unidentified Flying Object, is an object observed in the sky that is not readily identified. The term is then mostly associated with claimed observations of extraterrestrial crafts, many of them in the form of a flying saucer. Some celebrates World UFO Day on 24 June, to commemorate the date that aviator Kenneth Arnold reported what is generally considered to be the first widely reported unidentified flying object sighting in the United States. Others celebrate it on 2 July, to commemorate the supposed UFO crash in the 1947 Roswell UFO Incident.
World UFO Day was first celebrated in 2001. The stated goal of the celebration is to raise awareness of “the undoubted existence of UFOs” and to encourage governments to declassify their files on UFO sightings. Today, World UFO Day is celebrated by gathering up and watching the skies for UFOs. UFO enthusiasts will also share stories and provide support for other believers.
Even if you do not celebrate World UFO Day, you could still share the spirit by reading UFO sighting or alien abduction reports. You could also celebrate it by watching movies, reading books, or playing games on UFO, aliens, or extraterrestrial beings with families and friends. Serve them some UFO-themed treats to enliven the celebration!
For us, Adora is planning to play one of her board games (with an alien theme, of course!) with her friends. Celly has been piling up books on extraterrestrial beings to be read, and Uni-Q will binge-watch Korean dramas on aliens and UFO!
