San Diego Comic-Con

Stormtrooper-01Hello San Diego! This year, San Diego Comic-Con International is in full swing on 18-22 July 2018. San Diego Comic-Con International is a multi-genre entertainment and comic convention held annually in San Diego, California, United States. It is commonly known as Comic-Con, San Diego Comic-Con, or SDCC. The aim is to create awareness of, and appreciation for, comics and related popular artforms, primarily through the presentation of conventions and events that celebrate the historic and ongoing contribution of comics to art and culture.

San Diego Comic-Con International was first held on 21 March 1970, as the Golden State Comic Book Convention at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, by a group of San Diegan comics, movie, and science-fiction fans. Today, San Diego Comic-Con is the largest annual comic and pop culture festival in the world, attended by more than 130,000 people from around the world.

Originally showcasing primarily comic books and science fiction/fantasy related film, television, and similar popular arts, the convention has since included a larger range of pop culture and entertainment elements across virtually all genres, including horror, animation, anime, manga, toys, collectible card games, video games, webcomics, and fantasy novels.
