Harry James Potter, or better known as Harry Potter, is the title character and protagonist of J. K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series. The fantasy novels chronicle the lives of Harry Potter, a young wizard, and his friends Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley, all of whom are students at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The main story arc concerns Harry’s struggle against Lord Voldemort, a very powerful dark wizard who intends to become immortal, overthrow the wizard governing body known as the Ministry of Magic, and subjugate all wizards and Muggles (non-magical people). Harry Potter is dubbed as the Boy Who Lived because he was the only one who survived Lord Voldemort’s attack. Previously, Lord Voldemort has attacked and killed many people, including Harry Potter’s parents.
Harry Potter is described as a “scrawny, black-haired, bespectacled boy, with a lightning bolt-shaped scar on his forehead”. He is strongly guided by his own conscience, and has a keen feeling of what is right and wrong. Harry gets angry easily, and are also impulsive, but he is also innately honorable. According to J. K. Rowling, “He’s not a cruel boy. He’s competitive, and he’s a fighter. He doesn’t just lie down and take abuse. But he does have native integrity, which makes him a hero to me. He’s a normal boy but with those qualities most of us really admire.” Those characters makes Harry Potter is a suitable real-life role model for children.
