Let’s pepare for one of the sweetest days of the year, because on 7 July we will celebrate World Chocolate Day!
Chocolate is the typically sweet food made from Theobroma cacao seeds. There are many forms of chocolate: in a liquid, paste, or in a block, or used as a flavoring ingredient in other foods. There four types of chocolate: milk (contains milk powder or condensed milk), white (does not contain any cocoa solids), dark (contains higher amount of cocoa solids), and unsweetened (pure chocolate liquor, also known as bitter or baking chocolate).
The earliest evidence of chocolate use traces to the Olmecs (Mexico), with evidence of chocolate beverages dating to 1900 BC. Today, many type of foodstuffs are created involving chocolate, particularly desserts including cakes, pudding, mousse, chocolate brownies, and chocolate chip cookies. Chocolate is also one of the “mandatory” gifts for Valentine’s Day and White Day.
The World Chocolate Day celebration has taken place since 2009. On it, many renowned chocolate brands offer a sale on their delicious chocolates, specialized chocolate gift boxes, or even free samples to be tasted! Some also take the opportunity to launch new types of chocolate to their customers. Of course, the World Chocolate Day should be celebrated by consuming chocolate in any types or forms! You could also use the day to hone your baking skills by creating a brand new chocolate desserts for your families and friends!
Even if you do not like chocolate, or do not celebrate the World Chocolate Day, you could still share the spirit by giving chocolate, in any forms, as a gift to any chocolate lover in your families or friends!
