People all around the world has been preparing to watch one of the most significant events in 2018, which is the wedding between Prince Henry of Wales, known as Prince Harry and a member of the British royal family, and Meghan Markle, an American Actress. The wedding takes place on 19 May 2018 at Windsor Castle, a royal residence at Windsor in the English county of Berkshire, England.

Prince Harry was born on 15 September 1984, and is the younger son of Charles, Prince of Wales, and Diana, Princess of Wales, and is sixth in the line of succession to the British throne. Prince Harry was educated at schools in the United Kingdom and spent parts of his gap year in Australia and Lesotho. He then followed a military career and underwent officer training at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. He was commissioned as a cornet (i.e. second lieutenant) into the Blues and Royals, serving temporarily with his brother, Prince William, and completed his training as a troop leader.

Meghan Markle was born on 4 August 1981. Her father is a Caucasian and her mother is African American. Meghan was born and raised in Los Angeles, California, and graduated from Northwestern University with a degree in theater and international studies in 2003. Megan is an active humanitarian activist for international charity One Young World and World Vision Canada. She also worked with the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women as an Advocate. From 2011 to 2018, she portrayed the character Rachel Zane on the legal drama series Suits. She also starred on Remember Me and Horrible Bosses.

Prince Harry and Megan met on a blind date that was set up by a mutual friend. They have been in relationship since June 2016. Unfortunately, their relationship triggered a wave of abuse and harassment directed toward Meghan. Therefore, on 8 November 2016, the British royal family’s communications secretary released an official statement that addressed the wave of abuse and harassment. On November 2017, it is announced that Prince Harry and Meghan are officially engaged. During the engagement, Prince Harry gave Meghan a bespoke engagement ring made by Cleave and Company, consisting of a large central diamond from Botswana, with two smaller diamonds from his mother’s jewelry collection. Later, on 14 March 2018, the Queen gave her consent for Prince Harry to marry. With the wedding, Meghan will be the second American and the first person of mixed race heritage to marry into the British royal family.

On the wedding day, a ceremony and reception will be held at St George Hall, and the guest list includes approximately 600 people. In addition, approximately 1200 members of the public are invited to greet the couple outside the chapel on the grounds of Windsor Castle. Following it, there will be a carriage procession through Windsor. Afterwards, there will be an evening reception at Frogmore House, attended by 200 close friends of the couple.
