Internationale Spieltage SPIEL is an annual four-day boardgame trade fair which is also open to the public and held in October (Thursday to the following Sunday) at the Messe Essen exhibition centre in Essen, Germany. Also often called the Essen Game Fair, it is the worldwide biggest fair for board games. Artists, have you participated on this year’s Inktober? Inktober is a drawing challenge taken by artists all around the world by doing one ink drawing a day for the entire month of October. Inktober is created by artist Jake Parker in 2009, to improve inking skills and develop positive drawing habits. It has since grown into a worldwide endeavor with thousands of artists taking on the challenge every year. 
The Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta will be held on 6 October to 14 October 2018 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It is the largest annual hot air balloon festival in the world, with more than 500 hot air balloons participating each year. 
On 5 October we will celebrate World Teachers Day. Also known as International Teachers Day, the celebration aims to focus on “appreciating, assessing and improving the educators of the world” and to provide an opportunity to consider issues related to teachers and teaching. 
On 3 to 14 October 2018 we will celebrate Kinderboekenweek or the Children’s Book Week in the Netherlands! Kinderboekenweek is an annual “week” of ten days in September and October for the promotion of (Dutch) children’s book. Kinderboekenweek has been held since 1955 with different theme each year. This year, the theme of Kinderboekenweek is Vriendschap: Kom erbij! or Friendship: Join us! 
It is October and Oktoberfest is already in full swing! Oktoberfest is the world’s largest Volksfest, a large event in Germany that usually combines a beer festival and travelling funfair. Oktoberfest is held annually in Munich, Bavaria, Germany, and usually lasts for 16 to 18 days, from mid or late September to the first week of October. Locally, Oktoberfest is often called the Wiesn. This year, Oktoberfest is held from 22 September to 7 October 2018. 
Bath’s Children Literature Festival, which is also known as Bath Kid’s Lit Fest, will be held on 28 September to 7 October 2018 at Bath, Somerset, England. It is Europe’s largest dedicated children’s literature festival that typically lasts ten days, spanning two weekends. The aim of the festival aim is to spark and inspire young imaginations, offer fascinating insights into the world of books and celebrate the joy of reading.
