Sometimes called April Fools’ Day, it is an annual celebration commemorated on April 1 by playing practical jokes or harmless pranks and spreading hoaxes. Adorageek acknowledges that we are in a trying times with the Covid-19 outbreak. However, we at Adorageek are firm believers that there are still moments and events in the wide world worth celebrating. We just have to change the way we are celebrating them. Therefore, Adorageek will continue to share those celebrations with you, in the hopes that in the near future, we can celebrate those moments and events again just like in the good times.

Tulips-01Tulip Festival Amsterdam will take place on 21 March to 10 May 2020. Tulip is Holland’s trademark flower, and during Tulip Festival, tulips bloom at 85 locations: in the public areas of Amsterdam, in the gardens of the city’s museums and hotels, and by notable buildings in the city center as well as in various districts of Amsterdam. All displays in public areas are free to enjoy, for some museum gardens normal ticket prices apply. People from all over the world come to enjoy the beautiful Keukenhof Tulip Gardens and explore the tulip fields just 30 minutes outside the center of Amsterdam.

Spring Equinox

spring equinox 2019 boyDo you know that our Earth actually rotates on a tilted axis? Earth rotates by itself around a fixed axis called the rotational axis. At the same time, Earth also orbits around the Sun in a fixed axis called the orbital axis. The rotational axis is not actually perpendicular to the orbital axis. As the result, our Earth is tilted to a certain angle compared to its orbital axis. And the celestial equator, the imaginary line in the sky above Earth’s equator, is also tilted to a certain angle compared to Earth’s orbital axis. Continue reading

Hanami 2019 Tree-01Hanami, meaning flower viewing, is a Japanese traditional custom of enjoying the beauty of Sakura, the renowned Japanese cherry blossom. From the middle of March to end of April, sakura tree will bloom all over Japan, and will last only for a week or two. That is why the sakura-zensen or blossom forecast announced each year by the weather bureau is watched carefully by Japanese people.
