She is a sleuth in an American mystery series created by publisher Edward Stratemeyer as the female counterpart to his Hardy Boys series. Nancy Drew first appeared in 1930. The books are ghostwritten by a number of authors and published under the collective pseudonym Carolyn Keene. Nancy Drew is a 16-year-old high school graduate, and in later versions, is rewritten and aged to be an 18-year-old high school graduate and detective. In the series, she lives in the fictional town of River Heights with her father, attorney Carson Drew, and their housekeeper, Hannah Gruen. However, we at Adorageek are firm believers that there are still moments and events in the wide world worth celebrating. We just have to change the way we are celebrating them. Therefore, Adorageek will continue to share those celebrations with you, in the hopes that in the near future, we can celebrate those moments and events again just like in the good times.

Tulips-01Tulip Festival Amsterdam will take place on 21 March to 10 May 2020. Tulip is Holland’s trademark flower, and during Tulip Festival, tulips bloom at 85 locations: in the public areas of Amsterdam, in the gardens of the city’s museums and hotels, and by notable buildings in the city center as well as in various districts of Amsterdam. All displays in public areas are free to enjoy, for some museum gardens normal ticket prices apply. People from all over the world come to enjoy the beautiful Keukenhof Tulip Gardens and explore the tulip fields just 30 minutes outside the center of Amsterdam.

Hanami 2019 Tree-01Hanami, meaning flower viewing, is a Japanese traditional custom of enjoying the beauty of Sakura, the renowned Japanese cherry blossom. From the middle of March to end of April, sakura tree will bloom all over Japan, and will last only for a week or two. That is why the sakura-zensen or blossom forecast announced each year by the weather bureau is watched carefully by Japanese people.

She is the main character in the 1908 novel Anne of Green Gables by Canadian author Lucy Maud Montgomery (published as L.M. Montgomery). Written for all ages, it has been considered a classic children’s novel since the mid-twentieth century. Set in the late 19th century, the novel recounts the adventures of Anne Shirley, an 11-year-old orphan girl, who is mistakenly sent to two middle-aged siblings, Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert, who had originally intended to adopt a boy to help them on their farm at Green Gables, in the fictional town of Avonlea on Prince Edward Island, Canada. Hinamatsuri-Doll Festival

Doll Festival 2020 Lady-01Hinamatsuri, or Doll’s Day or Girls’ Day, is celebrated on 3 March by Japanese girls. It is a festival to pray for the growth and happiness of young girls. The origin of Hinamatsuri festival came from the practice of o-harae, a Shinto purification rites. It is said that Izanagi, one of the mythical founders of Japan, purified himself in the river after visiting Yomi, the land of the dead. That was the source of o-harae. During the Heian period, o-harae was performed on the third day of the third month by means of transferring sins and misfortunes to dolls made of paper, wood, or straw called katashiro, and throwing them into the river or ocean.
